"i really wanted to make an epic psych rock song with no drums, reminiscent of some of my influences from the late 60’s. something with lyrics that held wisdom & could serve as a mantra. a gentle reminder to open your eyes & really take in what’s going on rather than distracting ourselves into oblivion. (side note: i always picture mumbo jumbo from banjo kazooie when the “OO, AH” vocals come in at the end hahaha)
lyrics
Open the door,
though you may not feel like it
Go and explore,
through the maze, you’ll be guided
Hear what the shore
has to say in the moment
Face to the floor,
you can’t see where you’re going
(So once in a while…)
Once in a while…
Once in a while…
(Open your eyes)
Once in a while…
Once in a while…
Once in a while…
(Once in a while)
Once in a while…
Go to the core,
all the way to your kindness
Oh, what a bore,
all the days you were blinded
Now that you’ve grown
from the heat of the moment
Face all the doors,
you can breathe when they’re opened
(So once in a while…)
Once in a while…
Once in a while…
(Open your eyes)
Once in a while…
Once in a while…
Once in a while…
(Once in a while)
Once in a while…
Once in a while, you’ll have to make that change
You don’t want it to feel the same now, do ya?
Once in a while, you’ll have to make that change
You don’t want it to feel the same now, do ya?

Sublime album, fantastic voice and songwriting backed by solid band and production. Current favourite track is Give Me Another Day. The tracks are short and sweet but some could certainly stand extending for the dancefloor. Phing

A special, special talent.
The music and melody Cleo Sol is so healing to me.
Her music is inviting, and her spirit is receiving.
